Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 9 January 2026
Sequency is built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. This policy explains how the application handles data.
1. No Personal Data Collection
Sequency does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, contact lists, location data, or identifiers to the developer or any third parties. There are no user accounts or registration requirements to use the application.
2. File and Folder Access
Sequency is a sandboxed macOS application. It only accesses files and folders that you explicitly select using the macOS file picker or via drag-and-drop.
Security-Scoped Bookmarks
To provide a seamless experience, the app creates "bookmarks" to remember the permissions you've granted for specific directories.
Local Storage
These bookmarks and the associated file paths are stored locally on your device in the app's private UserDefaults and are never shared or uploaded.
3. Diagnostics and Logs
The app generates local logs using the standard macOS logging system (os_log) to help troubleshoot technical issues like EXR processing or permission errors. These logs remain on your device. The developer only receives this information if you manually copy and send it via a support request.
4. Contacting Support
If you choose to contact support via email, any information you provide (such as your email address or system details) will be used solely to assist you with your inquiry.
5. Third-Party Libraries
Sequency uses professional industry-standard libraries (like OpenColorIO and OpenEXR) for image processing. These libraries operate entirely locally and do not perform any data tracking.
